Photo-Finish Friday --Mountain Hideaway

The Sierra Maestra Mountains, Cuba

The view from the staging area for the trek to Che and Fidel's mountain hideaway.
It was three km from our cabins up a narrow, winding road just to get here. The hideaway was another three km walk.
I'd been sick and couldn't do the hike, but I went as far as here so I could at least see something of the area.

Beautiful. The kind of place I would love to live.

Getting sick while traveling is no fair.

That is a gorgeous view! It sucks that you were sick, though, and couldn't do the hike.
Glad you made it far enough to take this, though, because it is so pretty!

Messymimi, it is a beautiful island.

dfBag Lady, I really wanted to see the hideout, but I just couldn't do it. I'm glad I got to see this, though.

Thanks, Thomma Lyn and Hilary. I think the sick bit came about from fighting off the flies for my breakfast.

I hope you've long since recovered.

This is one of the fun things about the blogosphere, click a link, suddenly find yourself in Cuba! It's a beautiful photograph, and I hope it was an amazing trip nonetheless.
