Photo-Finish Friday - Independent Spirit

Part of the Monumento Antonio Maceo in Santiago de Cuba.
He was a hero of the War of Independence. The other part of this monument shows him on his rearing horse with his head turned to the Sierra Maestra Mountains.

They finally brought all the photos from their Cuba trip for me to see.

Normally I don't find these types of monuments to my liking but I gotta admit thats sharp looking.

Carla, it's a monument that begs to be shot.

David, it is quite striking.

Mary, Cuba has a lot to offer, and it is so different from what we're used to.

Very interesting!
(David's comment cracked me up! Was that intentional, David? Of course it was.)

To immerse yourself in another culture is a grand adventure.

Beautiful shot of a very intriguing monument.

Love your header, Leah. Is this poppa bear or momma bear? If the latter, she better keep her cubs from poppa.

Barbara, thanks. Mike took this pic as I was reluctant. Dunno if it momma or pappa as we didn't get close enough to ask.
