Gratitude Monday -- This Tree

I love all trees, don't get me wrong.
But every so often one stands out from its brothers and sisters.
It gives off a special vibe. It can be a warm invitation, a feeling of fellowship, or security, or kindness.
It truth it can impart a feeling of almost anything and it's that feeling which draws me to it.
Yes, I hug trees. I do it with their permission and yes, they hug back.

We found this spruce in the forest during a walk around Fish Lake yesterday.
It has a magnificent and kindly feel to it.  I stepped away a few times, but it drew me back. I spent a few minutes with it and I am grateful for it, and to it.
I hope to again some day.

Fellow tree hugger -- i'm drawn to those that are injured or not thriving in some way. It feels like they want hugs and encouragement.

Messymimi, I am so happy you attend to the sick and injured. Trees deserve the best.

I have never hugged a tree (except when I was climbing it) but I tend to rest my hand on their trunks as I would on a good friend's back. That tree in my yard that keeps dropping large limbs: that one has a glorious soul.

Ah, a tree's soul is a beautiful thing.

Trees probably need hugs just like people!

You're a gem, Leah. I'll bet you made that tree's day. And it, yours.

OK, I realize it's been a while since I've hugged a tree. Must get to that pronto, thank you! And love the photo.

Leah, I do the same thing. I find that tree energy in the fall tends to be closing up for the winter. Their energy is lovely and healing.
