The little voice inside will direct you properly. I’ve learned to heed mine, mostly, and it’s been worthwhile.
We’d been looking around for a new mattress to replace our 17-year-old foam IKEA mattress. I checked a store that specializes in foam mattresses. I checked IKEA, too. Something similar was available and it seemed logical to get the replacement from the store which sold me the product originally.
I was going to phone in the order and arrange for delivery (the nearest stores are two hours away) when I felt a nagging urge to check out a local furniture store.
I did. Spring-style mattresses were available and the store was having a sale. It looked good.
My husband was off work the next day so we went back, check things out again, and bought a new mattress. The price was good. Part of the deal on the sale was no GST being charged.
We bought it and brought it home. The whole transaction took less than an hour.
I heeded the voice that said to look there. Our mattress was replaced quickly and it was on sale.
The little voice inside is there for a reason. Sometimes it’s our intuition, other times it’s a guide or helper or angel who’s stopped by to nudge us along.
Usually we hear about this help when something life altering is involved. It’s good to be reminded that that the little voice speaks to the mundane, too, and for that I’m grateful.

Spiritual Wake-Up Calls
Have you gotten your call?
Help from the Other Side takes many forms. Perhaps it’s a mental pull or an emotional nudge that draws your eye to a course list for a local college or adult education evening classes. This nudge or trigger might seem to be from a magazine article, a line of dialogue in a television show, or a person, a picture, a movie, book, a random bit of overheard conversation on a busy street, or just about anything else.
Certainly this can come from your own intuition. It’s your link to the world beyond our physical apprehension. But commonly it’s a loving and much needed push from the Other Side. These signals remind us that it’s time for a lesson.
It might be a simple reminder of the world beyond our five senses. But on occasion, it is quite literally a “wake-up call” from the spirit side.
We arranged before birth that we’d get these soul-awakening reminders. When our guides give us one, they’re keeping up their end of the bargain.
But how can somebody who’s incorporeal make a wake-up call? Their higher frequency can cause all manner of interesting things to happen to telephones, televisions, vacuum cleaners, and most anything else that’ll get our attention.
Have you ever been roused from sleep by a buzzing or ringing or the sound of a hurried, whispered conversation that you can’t quite make out? That’s a friend on the spirit side signaling you that it’s time to get on with your Pre-Birth Agreement.
Back in the early 1990s I was often jarred out of a peaceful sleep by the sound of a ringing telephone. I’d pick it up to find the ring was only in my head. The same thing happened with the intercom. Several times over about 18 months the intercom would buzz in the middle of the night. I’d answer, then realize it wasn’t the intercom at all.
Eventually, through meditation, I learned it was my guides trying to get my attention. They were literally waking me up to the possibilities beyond the physical world.
“Yes, when you are startled awake in the night because you thought you heard the phone ring, but it only rang in your head, yes, that is us,” Merope and Geon said together.
“We honor the agreement to help you awaken,” Merope continued. “These are signals you are familiar with and you understand. On the deep soul level you know why it is happening and it starts the process for you.”

First Step On The Spiritual Path
Scribbler’s comment on the post below this one below made me think about what it’s like when you take your first steps on a spiritual path.
Where do you start?
It can be overwhelming. There’s so much information available in books, on websites, in blogs, from friends and acquaintances. It seems everyone knows exactly what you need to do achieve spiritual fulfillment.
Only you know exactly what you should do. But that brings up another issue: how do you find it out?
The simplest way to go is to honor yourself. Pay attention to your thoughts and feelings about situations and people.
Have you got a new interest? Are you being pulled in a direction i.e. for studying or travel?
Do you feel a need to avoid a place, a person, or even a type of food?
These are all nudges from the spirit side. It might be you a guide, it can be hint of a past life, but it can also be your own intuition.
This “still, small voice” as Edgar Cayce termed it, nudges you along the path you need to follow and acts as an early warning system to keep you out of the trouble.
We get this nudges and warnings all the time. We can ignore them if we want, but if you’re looking for a simple way to start down your path, honoring your own inner voice is a good first step.
Thanks to Scribbler for the post idea.
