City Of Mosques

Cityscape of Cairo
Cairo, we heard, is known as the City of Mosques.
The photo shows only a bit of the many mosques that can be seen in the skyline.  It really is an amazing sight.
Cairo is quite polluted to begin with and in the winter the farmers burn the sugar cane fields after the harvest, thus adding to the ambience.

One of the most recognizable cities of the world. Right up there with London and New York.

Sadly...I have never seen this skyline...real or in photo form. SO I am glad you have it here...it's beautiful. Great photo work Leah...it must have felt quite wonderful standing there taking it all in.

A gorgeous picture, regardless of the haze.

Travis and Messymimi, thanks.

Dawn, I'm glad you like it. There's a great deal to take in there. Thanks.

Bag Lady, thanks. In some ways the haze adds to it.

That pollution is actually quite photogenic. Gives a lovely moody feel to it. Great as long as you don't have to live there!

Dawn, it certainly adds to the atmosphere.
