"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
Photo - Finish Friday -- The Other Side of the Story
The opposite bank of the Nile.
You'll notice the green belt is quite narrow.
Because of the dams, the Nile doesn't flood the way it did in the past. The silt from the flooding was rich in nutrients.
Those days are over.
And isn't that typical of what we manage to create now days?....a blockage of sorts when it comes to the natural way of things? (Even though it may seem necessary....(sigh) (Your title is almost exact -word for word- one I was writing and filing for later use. So when it comes out...I promise- I wasn't trying to copy;D) Have a wonderful weekend Leah...and may we always look for the Green Side of things!

That's quite the contrast.
Dawn, we're always improving on Nature, Dawn. We honestly think we know better.
Hilary, aye.
Wow, really love the contrast from the green belt to the desert. Beautiful shot.
Thanks, Chris. It's quite striking.
Lovely contrast. It is too bad that we keep "improving" on nature.
We monkey with what we do not fully understand.
Great shot.
'Tis the way of the world. We just can't leave anything alone!
Reb, thanks and yup.
So true, Messymimi. Thanks.
Yes, Bag Lady.
