Gratitude Monday - Solid Gratitude Edition

Back in the early 90s I'd had a dream that started in the house I spent my teen years in on the farm. In it I am in my parent's bedroom and there's a white cat on the window sill.
Then I am in my bedroom in my bed in my apartment and this same white cat rushes up from the foot of the bed to the head. A great waving of rising energy went through me keeping pace with the cat.
It is near impossible for me to describe this feeling properly. Rising, almost tingly, awake, fully alive, energy, and maybe not quite solid.

I rose up. It felt like my body, but I think I may have felt my body on the bed. I can't be sure because I so felt so filled with energy. I turned a bit went toward the open bedroom door. Instead of going through the door I went through the wall beside it.
It felt so wonderful. I was whole and yet in particles and so free and so filled with joy. I knew exactly what to do and how to do it, how to get through solid matter. It came to easily to me.
It made me happy to do this. Overwhelmingly happy. I went back to bed, back to my body in my bed and the cat walked back to the foot of the bed.

I know I fell back to sleep because I woke up remembering what had happened and knowing how, but not believing in, my ability to walk through the wall.
What stayed with me was an overwhelming feeling of love and the sense of belonging, of wanting to be with people, listen to them, love them, join in with them. That was entirely new.

That day at work I did join in more conversations and casual discussions and I know I was smiling that day. Maybe not on my face, but inside I grinned from ear to ear and I felt joy and happiness and wonder and such gratitude for life.
The joyous desire to be with others and socialize didn't last very long. Within a day or so I was back to my usual leave-me-alone-please self, but I remember how it felt to not just want to belong, but to know how to do it, and to do it and to feel I belonged. I remember the internal smile.

I remember the feeling I had of knowing I could get through solid matter by simply opening spaces in my body at the subatomic level. It's easy and simple and everyone can do it, I remember.
But I no longer remember how to do it, and the core sureness of it is gone.

I've had a lifetime of interesting occurrences and I've been writing about them. From time to time I will post about them.
They cover a fairly wide variety of experiences and some are difficult to speak about. That tells me it is important to do so.  I am convinced more people have these sort of off-normal experiences than are willing to say so publicly. In fact, I expect there are so many that they should be considered normal.

Gratitude Monday -- It's Weird But It Works Edition

Do you swear at your computer?
Who doesn't?

Recently I have changed my attitude toward my computer to the point I no longer see it as an inanimate object, but rather a device molded from once-living materials. Like any living creature it wants to be appreciated.

This may be a bit of  stretch so let's take it down to its simplest expression: everything is energy and energy responds to what we send it.  Be nice to the energy and the energy will be nice to you.

The slice of quartz that runs the show is from a living object. It has a consciousness.  Treat it kindly.

If you are grateful for your computer and what it does for you, tell it so. I have been thanking mine lately and even told it I love it a few times.

I swear it is working better. It was having issues shutting down and would freeze at the last second. Since I have been doing this it shuts down quicker and has even not frozen a few times.

On the physical side I changed a few things around so the back up battery isn't right behind it. Perhaps that was enough to keep it slightly cooler thus not requiring the extra time to pop off properly.
But I maintain showing it appreciation is key. When I do this I am also putting out gratitude to the Universe and that is always the right move.

I am grateful for my computer, for it working better, and for me forming the thought to do it and acting on the thought.

Gratitude Monday - Locking Down Gratitude Edition

As noted last week, the power door locks on my Ford Focus failed. I am grateful for a variety of reasons including what I wrote about putting money--energy--out to be used.
How things work fascinates me in general, and locks in specific . I learned how power door locks work and got to see inside the door panel before the work to replace the latch and actuator started.
Rainbow Ford gave me a good price on the work of their own volition.  I didn't ask and I don't ask for deals.  Negotiations bother me in the sense that it puts people in opposition with each trying to get the better of the other.
It serves in the short term, but not in the long term. I play the long game myself. It is more satisfying.
But back to my point. When I came in to pay the service manager was on lunch. The other fellow in service wasn't happy with the price as it was considerably higher than he thought it ought to be. I mentioned the price I've been quoted. He worked a bit and got it down to near that price.
The service manager came back, discussed matters with his co-worker, and then left to attend to another customer. The second fellow worked a bit again and I paid less than the original quote.
Good as that is, it is not the main target of my gratitude,
From what I saw in the door panel I was able to determine how a Slim Jim works. I hope I never need to use one, but I can now see in my mind what it does.
But best of all, by extrapolation I figured out how an old style car door lock could get stuck in the unopenable position and be easily fixed.
I refer to the type of handle that opened by pressing down a button in the handle and then pulling the door open. When this style of door is locked one pushes down the the lock and pushes in the button and then closes the door,
If one doesn't hold down the door button the lock inside stays up and looks unlocked, but the door won't open.
If happened once to a car we had ( I am sure I did it)  and stayed that way for about a month. I am sure dad fixed it himself. I always wondered how, but never got around to asking.
While I don't know for a fact how it was done, I can see in my mind how car door locks work now and I can back draft a procedure. It's enough for me, and for it I am grateful

Gratitude Monday -- Spending Energy Edition

The  power locks on the driver's side of my car have messed up. They will not lock. Much as I would love to take a door apart and see if it is a simple fix, I don't have that skill so I will leave it to the professionals.
This means I get to spend money, and yes, I do mean it.
Money is energy. It only serves when it is being used.  While it is important to save money for the future, it is also important to use it.
Send it out to do what money does: pay for goods and services.  Those who are paid can use it to do the same, thus setting up an energy path where things get done.
I like money. Not in and of itself as it is an inert object, but for what it can do: feed me, clothe me, take me on trips.
It can't do any of that if it is hoarded.
It isn't money that makes the world go 'round, it is is energy.
Putting the energy out in money form makes things happen. That is important for a functioning society based on using energy in the form of money.
I will get my locks fixed. In doing so I inject energy into my local world and for it I am grateful.

Restoring The Flow

I finally got around to cleansing the energy in the house yesterday. I usually do this do this quite often, but I’ve let it go. I like to cleanse and charge the area around my computer when I’m writing something new or doing some major rewriting /editing. This hadn’t been done in months and the energy in the house itself was getting to be a drain on me.

Winter does not help. Windows remain closed and doors are only open long enough to let folk in and out. By yesterday I could sense pockets of stagnate energy, old energy, and dull energy. It had to be moved out.

Incense is my favorite way to cleanse and charge areas especially for writing and the best I’ve found is balsam root, balsamorhiza sagittata.

We collect our own. It grows in the ditches and on hillsides in Alberta and elsewhere. The flowers are pretty and stand out beautifully against the green grass.

The root needs to be dried and cut before it’ll burn. The easiest way to do this is to cut the root into strips before it’s dried. To dry, simply leave the strips out in a single layer on a towel. Keep it away from direct sunlight.

The fibers are quite dense. A stick will only burn a few moments before it needs to be re-lit. It gives off a lovely sweet scent that reminds me of the outdoors.

It does wonders for clearing away stagnate energy. Some stubborn areas needed a bit of extra work and that meant clapping to break up the dullness. This is easy. I went to the stubborn areas and clapped my hands sharply and quickly and as loudly as I could. Once the stubborn areas were done I went through the whole house to make sure everything moved and flowed. By the time I was done I was so sensitive to the energy flow in the house I could see it.

Energy is moving around me better and it has helped with the flow inside me, too. I feel better, smarter, and more creative. It has yet to translate to my writing, but I know it will.

Of Course I Can

Affirmations, mantras, incantations, spells, call ‘em what you will; they work.
Distilled down to their simplest form they’re a strong positive statement expressed repeatedly. When you say something over and over it gets imprinted. It becomes real. It is real.

Simple is best because it’s easy to remember and easy to use.
If you’ve got several areas to work on you might find yourself skipping about excitedly trying to change everything at once.

I know. I’ve done it.

It scatters the energy too much at a time when it ought to be focused. You’ll get some changes, but the attempt is half-hearted. That makes it easy to declare affirmations as useless.

“They’re too hard,” you might say. “I’m not going to bother. And they don’t work anyway.”

This clears the way for you to stop trying so you can get back at all that important grumbling you’ve been doing.

Do you realize your grumbling carries the same amount of energy and does the same thing as the affirmations? You’re inculcating problems when you could use the same focus and energy to rid yourself of them.
That’s your choice, of course. Do what you want.

Do you want to change? Do you want to stop wasting energy feeding your problems? Are you looking for a place to start?
Here’s a simple declaration to get you going. I recently started using this because I’ve been scattering my energy instead of focusing it.
I wanted something on the ground level to build on and I decided this declaration was the best foundation:

“Of course I can.”

Use it or discard it as you see fit.

Want more affirmations? LaUna Huffines has some good ones at Path of Light.

And you can always make your own.

Think you can't?

Of course you can.
