Tokaiangel, oh, yes, and sometimes at the feeders, too. I've seen them with their little birdie feet in the snow and I've wondered how they stay warm.

Great photo, dfLeah! Chickadees are amongst my favourite birds - they are always so cheerful-sounding!
And love Miz's idea for writing captions... for everyone else to write them, that is... I've never been good at that. Can barely come up with titles for my blog posts. ~~sigh~~

Your photos of birds and the commentary have actually made me want to learn the types and how to recognize them. Previously I could identify the major ones as well as some outliers like a roadrunner that lived in our yard but I couldn't tell a chickadee from a sparrow at this point. Did you always know these things or did you set out specifically to learn?
Erin, thanks. I've been trying to learn them over the past few years. I knew chickadee and blue jay and I knew an eagle from a hawk, but couldn't tell you what kind of hawk. I really didn't care for birds much until five or six yers ago. My husband was pretty good with identifying them and he is quite fond of them. They grew on me to the point I like to have them around and we feed them year round.

Lovely shot - shame we don't have chickadees
Been following the daily progress of a family ducks on my morning walk and was saddened to see that 3 ducklings had disappeared overnight. Still 2 left and hopefully they will survive.
