The Rhubarb Triangle

I am confident spring is here. The rhubarb has risen.

The three little red points forming the triangle in this photo are rhubarb sprouts, specifically they are leaf primordia. I found them out in the rhubarb patch on Tuesday and I was very excited.

New life is growing out of the Earth, and in a few weeks there'll be pie.

The first rhubarb of spring makes the best pie. Hope you get a chance to have some, Bunnygirl. It's good for you.

Certainly, dfBag Lady. You will be bringing your salsa, right?

I'd also be willing to bet that in a few weeks there'll also be recipe.. hopefully not a secret one (glances at Baggie). ;)

Actually, rhubarb has never been a favourite but so many people feel so passionate about it that I'm thinking enough years have passed that I should give it another try.

Nice capture, Leah.

Rhubarb deserves a second chance, Hilary.

Ah, yes, but do you have proper rhubarb pie plates?

Leah J. Utas said...

I'm a-feared I don't, Reb.

Where does one acquire such a magical thing?

If rhubarb is up, my asparagus should be up soon also. Yummm.

Did it really happen? Is spring finally here? In northern Illinois?

If it's here in Alberta, Boots586, it must be there, too. Ummm fresh asparagus.

There was a 13th comment from someone named akinogal or the like.
It offered a link. My guess is it was another evil viral abomination.

I had something similar the other night and had the sense, like tonight, to delete it. I make this notation as a warning. If it's just a name and a link do not click.
