Gratitude Monday - Soothing Edition

The play of sunlight on water reminds us that beauty at its best is simple.

amen, sister.
and, if I may kinda veeeer from your powerfulnessment to the slightly superficial, thats precisely why I dont do the beauty thing (though, admittedly, I should more) and why I kinda hope my daughter doesnt as well.

to me the UNADORNED faces the moremore simple hair which lets the essence of *you* come through is the most calming and beautiful.

for some reason your post made me also think of that.

Lovely.

Mizfit - Thanks. I agree with you about the simplicity of the natural look. I'd rather see the person than the make- up cover and shellacked hair.

Crabby - Thank you.

I'm a big fan of the natural look, but I definitely own a ton of makeup that I use when going out at night. I play with eyeshadow the same way little kids play with finger paints.

But during the day, it's the natural look all the way.

I love the way sunlight sparkles on water. It's almost blinding in its beauty. Well captured.

Hello Tricia, thanks for stopping by. I'm all for the natural look, but you certainly have the right to do what makes you feel good.
I gave up make-up many years ago. It just didn't feel right to me. I'm not even sure I remember how to use it.

Hilary, thanks. It is blindingly beautiful. I could lose myself in the sparkles.

Gorgeous photo, cousin! Looks so peaceful and yes, soothing.
I'm with the non-adorned crowd - most makeup disappears on me, or makes my face itch...

Thanks, dfBag Lady. I have a few more of these sparkles pics. They ease my shoulders.
Totally get the itch thing. I can't wear mascara for that reason. I wouldn't anyway, but it is added incentive.

love it, looks so peaceful.
I use a little bit of makeup during the day, more when I go out. I tend to go a little more low maintenance the older I get!

Beautiful, just what I need before I go off to push the last few rocks around!

I am so glad the '80's took it's makeup & hair with it!

Leah J. Utas said...

Reb, glad you like it and I'm glad you're winding up the hard work today.
Oh, yeah, I'm glad about the 80s being over, too!

Lovely, soothing shot. You may know from my own scribbling that I'm a huge fan of simple. In fact, simple is me.

As for the makeup thing. Again, I find less is more. So I don't use any.

Therefore I am even more simple.

Thanks so very much, Frank. Simple is best.

And thanks for the smile re: make-up.
