Monday Gratitude - Grateful For Twenty Years Here

Birds, like this blue jay, like our bird bath.

I've lived here for 20 years as of yesterday and my first day at the Mountaineer newspaper was 20 years ago today.
I have a great deal to be grateful for and the best way to show it is pictures.
I hope you enjoy the sights as much as I do.

we do, errr, I do (I wont speak for the masses).
as always your posts make me think and also calm me (what that says about my morning state Im not certain) AND make me wonder (what's the hubby making? where did you move FROM?).

Love the new picture at the top of the blog as well as all the others! Happy anniversary, it is so calming to feel settled and secure somewhere you love.

Great photos, cousin! Thanks for sharing these with us - it's a window to understanding why you stay there - fabulous scenery!

MizFit - thinking and calming is a great combination. I'm pleased I have that effect on you.
Husband is currently carving a lynx mask.
I've lived in several places. I'd worked in northern BC and then moved home for a few month(Barrhead) before finding the Rocky job. Prior to BC I'd worked in Olds and that's about 70 miles south of Rocky.

Tokaiangel - It is good to love where you live. Glad you enjoyed the pics, and I'm especially pleased that the blog header photo is such a hit. It's one of my favourite places.

dfBag Lady, thanks. Photos say it best.

The thing that I can picture is the fresh air and feel good feeling of that area. I think this camera is agreeing with you :)

Lovely representation of your area and time spent there. I love that birdbath and would love to see some of your husband's carvings.

Wow, what an awesome 20 year celebration! Those are some beautiful pictures, no wonder you feel grateful. Finding a wonderful spot to live and appreciating every aspect you can is truly a gift.

Thanks so much for sharing the pics!

Tom, this area does have a really good feel to it. If I've captured that, then I have done my job.
These photos are the product of all three of our digital cameras, the Fuji Finepix, a Pentax K20D, and the Olympus. I've got so much to learn on all of them. And thanks for your kind words about my results.

Hilary, thanks so much. I'll post some of his carvings in a day or so.

Crabby, thanks. This whole area has the most amazing scenery. I'm still amazed and tickled that I get to live here.

Love the pics as usual! How do you happen to always get such good shots???

Leah J. Utas said...

Missicat, thanks so much. I was a reporter for about 20 years and taking pictures was part of the deal, but mostly it's the subject matter.

Terrific group of pics Leah! I especially like the one of the pond. (What can I say? I'm sucker for water.)

Do you have a heater for your bird bath? I've considered buying one but am flummoxed as to what to do with it in winter.

Leah J. Utas said...

Frank, good to see you here. The pond is an especially lovely spot.
Our other bird bath is heated. We use a heated pet bowl. It works very well and it wasn't until it got -40C last year that snow covered the top of it.
