Photo-Finish Friday -- Life Goes On
Enlarge the photo and you'll see laundry on the second floor and a woman hanging out the wash on the top floor.
This building is across the street from one of the most sacred sites of the Revolution. It looks over the wrecked train that Che Guevara toppled to cut off supplies to the military. Castro entered Havana a few days later.
Life goes on.

You seem to capture shots that could inspire all kinds of stories. You have a very good eye, Leah. And a good little history lesson underneath. Thanks.
This particularly appealed to me since I've just come in from hanging laundry out on my balcony (in the country, not the city, but still.)
Mary Anne in Kentucky
Time is a funny thing. This contrasts it beautifully.
Thank you so much, David.
Mary Anne, I hang mine on the clothes tree on our back porch in warm weather. I wouldn't want to do it in the city, but it's the way of life there.
Messymimi, thank you.
What a wonderful building! Love the details, and the laundry makes it look cozy.
You do have a good eye, cousin.
Thanks, Cousin, I thought the building had a lot of character.
Wow, I did enlarge the photo. Okay, I'll say it again, you make me want to go to Cuba. You have a wonderful photographic eye.
Mary
I can see a couple of plot threads emerging from this photo, Leah. Great inspiration you've provided. Love the architecture of the building.
Mary, thanks so much. I hope you can get there some day soon.
Barbara, the architecture struck me, too. I never thought of this as inspiration for writing, but I do see it.
Lovely photo and the building is amazing.
Thanks, Reb. It had a great deal of character.
You may be interested in one of my life story posts about my husband meeting Che many years ago. Just search my blog and it should come up if indeed it strikes your fancy.
Tabor, I'd love to read it. I searched both your blogs twice, but I don't have very good searching skills as I couldn't locate it.
Can you give me a direct link?
What a fascinating building. And interesting history that goes with it, too.
Cuba's an interesting place, TL.
