"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
I saw a ghost, too! Or a bear, but perhaps that's because of the last couple of posts here..... :) Love the photo, cousin. The colour of the water is fabulous, isn't it?
Mary, please do. I'd recommend June or September as the crowds aren't quite as crowdy and the roads not quite as packed. June will give you new leaves and new fresh life in general, roaring snowpack melt, and long spring evenings. September offers colourful days with a crispness yet enough warmth to satisfy most anyone. If you are camping, later June is best. School ends at the end of June here and starts on or before the first week of September. Avoid long weekends in mountain parks at any time of year. The Trans-Canada Highway (#1)from Calgary and Banff townsite westbound to at least Lake Louise is routinely packed. Travel on weekedays if you can.

That looks fantastic Leah. If you don't mind I was going to 'join in' with Photo-Finish Friday. Would that be ok?
The lake almost looks like a person or maybe a ghost with outstretched arms. I'm not drinking, I swear. I see that.
and if you turn the pic sideways it looks like a ghost.
David Barber, thanks so much. Please join in, I'd be thrilled.
David Cranmer and Carla, I had to tilt my head to see it, but yeah, I see the ghost. I saw a cartoon star myself.

Off now to check out more Photo Finish Fridays.
That magnificent colour is one of my favourite shades of blue, Cousin.
Can't say as I saw a bear in it. I'll have to look again.
Thanks, Leah. It does look like a ghost, but I also agree with the star. I get to watch Dora quite a lot and it looks like one of the stars in that>
I really want to go to Banff. What is the best time?

It's a nice hike to Peyto Lake, and those mineral silts really make that blue vivid.
Barbara, a nice hike and good test for me.
Hi Leah, I posted a photo on Friday, if you fancy a quick look.

Wow.. could it be any bluer? I saw the outstretched arms immediately too. Lovely spot.
It's an amazing colour, isn't it?
