"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy."
-Hamlet, Act One, Scene Five
This above all: to thine ownself be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.” - (again with the Hamlet)
It's summer in Alberta and that means our provincial flower, the wild rose, is in bloom. Our summer is all too brief. I'm happy it's here and I'm doing my best to show my gratitude by enjoying it as I can.
Tabor, many of them are pink. I saw a few like this. In all frankness, the photo is a wee bit deliberately underexposed. I wanted to see if it would bring out the richness of the flower.
Summer?? We gat about two weeks...if we're lucky. Although we have had some great weather of late but has started raining the last couple of days. Great photos, Leah. You certainly have caught the richness. Nice job.
Lovely petals, and to think these wild roses grow in all the roadside ditches.
What I would give for a temperate Alberta summer? Toronto gets hot and humid and yucky, like today. Sunny, 28C with a humidex set at 36C. This hot and humid stays well into late August.

A true wild rose. I saw some along a marsh down here and they were pink.

May your summer bring you enough roses to get through the winter to come.
Lovely photo.
Lovely photo, cousin! The roses are blooming here, too, and I'm enjoying the scent.
Thank you, Messymimi.
dfBag lady, I love the look of the wild roses. It's a joyous riot of colour and life. I, too, love the fragrance.
Beautiful rose. If you want a long summer, come here. We get about nine months of it.
I've ony seen pics but summer there looks similar to Maine and that I can say is beautiful.
Thanks, Bunnygirl. in some ways we're even: we get about nine months of winter.
David, I suspect you're right.
I'm grateful for these lovely hot days, and cool evenings.
Mary
Beautiful exposure on the photo Leah. I am so happy that summer has arrived. It might even stay warm for a bit ;)

That's good, Mary. They are what is important.
Reb, thanks so much. I'm hoping we get to enjoy it.
David, thanks. I didn't know you had such miserable summers. Hope you get a chance to enjoy any good weather you get.

Such a lovely photo. I'm in catch up mode after my time away. I enjoyed your tater rant and the photo of Toad.
Barbara, I love the summers here. I hope you get through the humidity.
Hilary, good to have you back. Thanks.
